A TWYFORD mum-of-two died from complications caused by the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, a court has ruled.

Dawn Wooldridge, who was 36 when she died at her home on June 15, 2021, had a condition a pathologist said was likely caused by the jab she had received only 11 days earlier.

This was a dramatic u-turn that would have ‘shocked’ Dawn’s family, a coroner said, as previously no cause of death had been given following an earlier post-mortem.

But at an inquest into her ‘tragic’ passing, a doctor said he thought Dawn would still be alive had she not received the vaccine.

Her husband was told that he will now be able to explain how Dawn died to the couple’s two children.

Reading Coroner’s Court heard how June 15 was a ‘normal’ day for Dawn, who previously worked at a nursery and volunteered at Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre in Warfield.

She had dropped her son off at school in the morning, gone for coffee with a friend, and phoned her mother at around 2 pm.

However, the alarm was raised later that afternoon when she did not collect her son from school.

Her husband, Ashley, was called, and her brother, Stuart, went to his sister’s home to check on her.

Stuart found Dawn unconscious after forcing his way into her house and he began CPR.

Emergency services were called, but despite their best efforts, Dawn was pronounced dead at 5.18pm.

Sukvinder Ghataura, a pathologist who carried out a post-mortem on Dawn, said she had no injuries upon examining her.

The doctor also declared Dawn had no underlying conditions, there were no drugs or alcohol in her system, and she was not suffering from coronavirus.

He was unable to confirm a cause of death, however.

But at an inquest into Dawn’s death at Reading Coroner’s Court, Dr Ghataura reversed his position.

He said Dawn’s heart had an inflammation (also known as myocarditis) and there was a clot on her lung.

The doctor said he was aware Dawn had complained of menstrual irregularities after receiving her Pfizer coronavirus vaccine on June 4.

“That’s important because a lot of women did get that as a result of getting the jab”, Dr Ghataura said.

Dawn was also suffering from an achy arm and jaw, Reading Coroner’s Court heard.

The doctor continued: “These features, and her [medical] history, made me suspicious she was suffering with vaccine-related complications prior to her death.

“The inflammation and clots on her lungs would be supportive of vaccine-related injury.

“There is nothing in her history to suggest she had an underlying cardiac problem.”

Dr Ghataura explained to the court that the myocarditis Dawn suffered from would have caused a huge surge of adrenaline, leading to her cardiac arrest.

Coroner Alison McCormack asked Dr Ghataura if it was ‘more likely than not’ that Dawn died as a reaction to the vaccine.

He responded: “I would say yes.”

In a u-turn from his previous position, Dr Ghataura said Dawn’s death was myocarditis caused by her recent covid-19 immunisation.

Dawn’s brother, Stuart Lynch, asked the doctor if he thought Dawn would still be alive if she had not been given the vaccine.

The doctor replied: “It is difficult to say, but yes, I think so.”

Summing up the evidence, Ms McCormick said Dawn was ‘special’ and ‘loved.’

She said: “Doctor Ghataura has expressed a change of view and has told me, on the balance of probabilities, it is more likely than not that she died from myocarditis due to recent covid-19 vaccination.”

Addressing Dawn’s family, she said: “I know this must come as a shock and surprise to you but at least you do now have some answers to some of the questions you were asking.

“I know it is going to take some time for it all to sink in but I do hope the fact you now have some answers will bring some level of peace and resolution for you.

“Nothing can bring her back, and Ashley, you will have something to say to your children about why their mum died so tragically.”

The inquest took place at Reading Coroner’s Court on Thursday, May 5.

Following her death, a fundraiser was set up in Dawn’s memory in order to support her family.

Organiser Sarah Cooper wrote: “Dawn was loved by so many, she was a wonderful wife, a fantastic mother and a brilliant friend.

“She will always be remembered by those who were blessed to have the privilege of knowing her and we will never forget her caring nature, brilliant sense of humour and her down to earth personality.

“Dawn will be thoroughly missed but her memory will live on in her beautiful children who she loved so dearly.”
