PLANS for 110 new homes in Mortimer have received the green light from the council.

West Berkshire Council's planning committee granted outline permission for the scheme on the land south of The Street.

There will be a mixture of bungalows, apartments and houses, ranging in size from one to five bedrooms, with around 40 per cent of the units deemed to be affordable.

The scheme includes seven acres of landscaped public open space, including a leisure trail and further space has been set aside for a new three-form entry school and GP surgery.

Katherine Miles, planning director at Pro Vision, said: “We are delighted the planning committee has granted a resolution for outline permission for this scheme which will deliver new homes and associated infrastructure in the area.

"The development achieves a high-quality design with generous plots, open spaces and buildings which respond to local character of the area.”
