AN IRRESPONSIBLE driver who was caught using a mobile phone while driving has been ordered to pay a fine of £2,500.
Thomas Riall, of Green Lane, Ufton Nervet, was stopped by police on April 9 on the M4 near Langley, Slough.
The 58-year-old was later convicted at Reading Magistrates' Court on August 13 after being caught.
He received a fine of £2,500 and was disqualified from driving for six months.
Police constable Jessica Barker, of the Roads Policing unit in Taplow, said: “Thames Valley Police take the offence of using a mobile phone whilst driving very seriously.
“Drivers distracted by using a mobile phone have a higher chance of being involved in a serious or fatal collision”.
