PEMBROKE Town Council has agreed to finance the library for one year, to help keep it open.
The proposal had been discussed at a separate committee meeting and had to be brought before the full council for ratification.
Mayor Linda Brown said: “It was decided amongst those that were present, that in view of the situation of financing the library that we agreed that we should finance it for one year. Which would be 2019/2020. Then we would review it after that.”
Both Cllr Brinn and Cllr Collins, who had missed the committee meeting agreed with the funding decision.
Cllr Collins then proposed that a vote should be taken, which was carried unanimously.
