RESIDENTS are being warned that a nearby post office could be on the move.

The Post Office in Coronation Square, Reading, is set to be relocated next door to Southcote Pharmacy.

Should the move go ahead, the new branch will be open Monday to Friday between 9and 6pm and between 9am and 1pm on Saturdays.

Customers and residents are being urged to comment on the proposals through a consultation, which will last six weeks.

Will Russell, Post Office's regional network manager, said: "We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Reading and we are confident this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

The consultation closes on August 14.

Submissions can be made by email at comments@postoffice.co.uk, via the customer helpline on 08457 22 33 44 or textphone 08457 22 33 55.

Customers can also share their views online through a questionnaire at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 075939.
