JAMES GROMOWSKI, 24, of St Johns Road, Newbury, denied stealing a charity box belonging to McDonalds and was convicted of theft. He was committed to prison for six weeks, suspended for 24 months and ordered to pay a surcharge of £115.

DAVID JEPSON, 60, of Ashby Court, Reading, admitted to two counts of persistently making use of public communication network to cause annoyance/inconvenience/anxiety. He was committed to prison for four months, suspended for 24 months and ordered to pay a surcharge of £115.

RAHIL YAKOOB, 23, of Wensley Road, Reading, admitted to breaching the requirements of a community order and was fined £40.

ANDREW BALL, 56, of The Oaks, Newbury, admitted to assault by beating and must comply with a community order. He will be required to take part in a rehabilitation activity requirement and was ordered to pay £300 costs.

ZOLTAN MESZAROS, 34, of London Road, Earley, admitted to drink-driving and was fined £115. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay costs of £85.

DONALD COX, 67, of St. Mary's Avenue, Purley, denied four counts of racially aggravated harassment/alarm/distress and one count of assault by beating. He was convicted and was committed to prison for 23 weeks. He must also pay court costs of more than £1,000.

CLAIRE LEONARD, 40, of Bartholomew Street, Newbury, admitted to stealing alcohol from a shop to the value of £108. He will be required to comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement and was ordered to pay £85 costs.

RYAN WALKER, 22, of Southcote Lane, Reading, admitted to stealing jackets from a shop and causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 belonging to Thames Valley Police. He was committed to prison for four weeks, suspended for 12 months and will be required to pay compensation of £304.

MAMADOU DAILLO, 21, of Denham Drive, Newbury, admitted to theft by employee after stealing £2,780 belonging to Little Nellies Diner and Nelsons Diner. He received a community order and is required to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay nearly £3,000 in compensation and costs.

JOHN SHACKELL, 35, of Talbot Court, Reading, one count of harassment without violence and was committed to prison for eight weeks, as the offence was committed while he was the subject of a suspended sentence. He was sentenced to a further four weeks in prison for the original offence of assault by beating and was ordered to pay costs of £170.

ROBIN WEBB, 54, of Howarth Court, Newbury, admitted to possessing a controlled drug of Class B - namely cannabis/cannabis resin - and received a fine of £50. He also failed without reasonable cause to surrender to custody and was fined a further £50. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
