A GANG of men broke into a home and assaulted frightened homeowners after demanding money from them.
Police believe a number of men broken into the property on Cloister Mews, Theale at around 11.40pm on July 3.
The raiders demanded cash from a 53-year-old man and 46-year-old woman, who were attacked during the break-in.
They suffered minor cuts and bruising and it is believed that the thieves escaped with jewellery.
Detective chief inspector Matt Stone, of Force CID at Reading station, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victims.
“We are eager to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything at the time of the burglary.”

Investigating officers were told that the men stormed into the home wearing dark clothing, but no other description is available.
