A TEENAGE crack cocaine dealer has avoided prison after admitting to his offences.

Abid Khan, 18, of Cardigan Gardens, Reading, was spotted exchanging packages in Fobney Street, Reading, on Tuesday April 5 at 5pm.

He was stopped and searched, and found to be in possession of cocaine, heroin and cash.

Khan was charged on April 18.

At Reading Crown Court on Thursday June 21, Khan admitted two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs - heroin and crack cocaine.

He was slapped with a two-year prison sentence and a community order, though the sentence was suspended for 18 months.

Investigating officer, police constable Zachary Rowe of the Reading Stronghold team, said: “Drug dealing is harmful to our communities and prevention of drug supply is a top priority for Thames Valley Police.

“We will always investigate offences thoroughly and put offenders before the courts.

“I would encourage the community to assist us by informing us of any such activity by calling 101, or anonymously via the Crimestoppers hotline, 0800 555111.”
