MORE than 2,000 children and parents laced up for the annual Green Park Challenge on Sunday.
The 3km fun run had to be rescheduled when the original race was hit by heavy snow in March.
Organised by the team behind the Sage Reading Half Marathon, hundreds of youngsters got involved as part of Reading's Children's Festival.
Judith Manson, race director, said: βIt really is one of the best ways to have fun, get fit and raise money for charity.
"We would also like to thank our partners for their continued support, especially Green Park, Reading F.C and Reading Roadrunnes for ensuring our rescheduled event went ahead for the families of Reading.β
Prizes were awarded for the fastest boys and girls and Sir John Madejski was on hand to get the race underway.
