POLICE continue to investigate an assault which left a man with a broken jaw last month.

At around 4.20am on Saturday, April 7, officers discovered an injured man outside the Premier Stores in St Mary’s Butts.

The victim, who is 25-years-old, had swelling to his face and head and was bleeding from his mouth.

The victim was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital and was found to have suffered a broken jaw.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

The victim had a multi-coloured cap stolen during the incident.

A CCTV appeal was issued on 23 May to appeal for a man who may have witnessed the assault to come forward, but this appeal is no longer active.
