Firearm discovered in Mortimer
POLICE have recovered a firearm in Mortimer.
Officers were called to the scene in Victoria Road shortly before 1pm on Saturday following reports that a weapon had been found in undergrowth, close to Budgens.
The firearm was seized by police, and will now be forensically examined.
Posts on social media reported a large police presence in the village throughout the afternoon.
