TEACHERS and carers are being asked to don their favourite headwear to raise money for vulnerable children.
Children's charity Barnardo's is appealing to young people across Reading to celebrate Hat Day on May 18 by wearing a hat to demonstrate what they want to be they grow up.
It is hoped that thousands of pounds will be raised across the country through donations, which will be used to give disadvantaged children a better future.
Javed Khan, Barnardo's chief executive, said: “Children are full of surprises and this is a fun way of allowing their imaginations to run wild in a way that will be inspiring, educational and raise money to help transform the lives of children who desperately need our support."
