PATIENTS who normally have to wear dressing gowns or pyjamas while they are in hospital have received a moral boost thanks to a fashionable new scheme.
The Royal Berkshire Hospital recently launched the 'Dress for Dignity' initiative to encourage people to feel more positive during their stay.
A designated room has been provided thanks to the hard work of the Enhanced Recovery team, offering patients the chance to bring spare clothing and get dressed up whenever they desire.
Liz Sargeant, from the NHS Emergency Care Improvement service, said: "We know if we can encourage patients to get dressed while they are in hospital, they can gain their independence more quickly and we can help get them home sooner, which is best for patients.”
The scheme was launched as part of the NHS 70 Days to end PJ Paralysis Challenge.
