THE winners of a Reading Chronicle competition received a signed copy of a brand new children's book at an event in reading last weekend.

Author Charlie Farley and illustrator Layn Marlow visited Waterstones in Broad Street on Saturday to launch their new book, 'A T-Wit for a T-Woo', meet fans and read excerpts from the story.

They also met the two winners of the Reading Chronicle competition, who won signed copies of the book.

School events coordinator Holly Workman said: "We were absolutely delighted to host Charlie and Layn at Waterstones on Saturday. Attending kids, and adults alike, were charmed by their interactive storytime. Illustrator Layn ran an owl drawing workshop and plenty of children came away with amazing creations of their own and I, along with many others, had great fun decorating an owl mask. It was simply a wonderful time enjoyed by all."
