A MAN was attacked by a group of men as he walked home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after the 20-year-old victim was punched in the face by the gang, who also demanded money from him.

At around 12.30am on Saturday, March 17, the victim was walking along Christchurch Gardens towards Basingstoke Road when he was shouted at by men in a silver car.

The victim gestured at them, the car stopped and three men got out.

Two of the men approached the victim, pushed him to the ground and punched him in the face as he attempted to get up.

One of them shouted at him demanding money, but the victim managed to run away. The offenders got back into the car and drove off towards Reading town centre.

The first offender is described as a black man, approximately 5ft 11ins, and of a broad build. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.

The second offender is described as a black man, approximately 5ft 9ins, and of a skinny build. He was wearing a dark blue Puffa-style jacket.

There is no description of the third man.
