RUNNERS have decided that snow won't stop their half marathon efforts.

Around 100 runners took to the streets this morning following the announcement that Reading half was cancelled.

A twitter account, '@notreadinghalf' was set up to ask runners to meet at 10am if they wanted to complete the race.

Since then, dozens have taken to social media to post photos of themselves finishing the 'unofficial' race.

Michael Lord told the Chronicle: "I could not let the cancelled marathon stop me from taking part.

"I have a bucket list of things to finish before I turn 30 in May.

"I had to take part. So glad I did now. Big thanks to stew and Josh for starting the twitter movement."

As reported, Reading Half Marathon organisers say a decision will not be made today on whether the race will take place this year.

However, they have anounced this afternoon that Sports Direct will give a £40 voucher to everyone who was signed up.

Runners will be emailed their voucher in the next few days.
