POLICE believe the body of an elderly man found on Saturday evening is the same person who went missing last week.
Rizkallah Moussah, who suffered from severe alzheimers, was reported missing from Sunningdale on March 10, sparking a major search from the emergency services, and from members of the public.
More than 1,500 people joined an online Facebook group in an attempt to locate the 82-year-old.
Search and rescue teams made the discovery of a body in the undergrowth of Armitage Court at around 5.30pm on March 17.
The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Berkshire coroner.
Detective inspector Stefan McLaughlin from Thames Valley Police said: "Our thoughts are with the family of Rizkallah Moussah at this very sad time.
"I would like to thank members of the public and media for sharing our missing person appeal to attempt to locate Mr Moussah and to Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue for their efforts in helping to search for him."
