A VIOLENT man demanded cash from a frightened convenience store worker while wielding a hammer during an unsuccessful raid.
The incident took place at Butts Convenience Store on Park Park Lane at around 8.30pm on February 8.
A man entered the store and threatened staff with a hammer before demanding cash.
No cash was taken and the offender then fled towards School Lane.
It is believed that he may have then got into a dirty red car near to a bus stop in School Lane before driving along Chapel Hill.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Thames Valley Police first appealed for witnesses on February 9 and is now releasing these images of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
Detective constable Peter Cave, of Reading Force CID, said: "We believe that this man could have vital information about this incident.
"If you recognise him, or have any information about him or this incident, please call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101."
