A TEENAGER was arrested after a robber wearing a face mask threatened petrol station staff with a knife.
The man entered the Esso garage on Berkeley Avenue at around 12.30am on January 29 and stole an unknown quantity of cash and tobacco.
The member of staff behind the counter was threatened with a knife as the man demanded money from the tills.
Nobody was injured during the robbery and a 19-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident.
He has been released on bail until February 26.
Detective constable Marius York, of Reading Force CID, said: "Detectives are investigating this robbery and I would like to speak to anyone who has any information which could help us with our enquiries.
"Any information you have should be reported to us by calling our 24-hour non-emergency number 101."
