A THIEF hid a stolen purse in a baby's pushchair after rummaging through it for cash.
A 52-year-old woman was shopping in Boots on Northbrook Street, Newbury, when she left her black leather purse on a seat.
The purse contained a large amount of cash.
Another woman saw her leave, and sat down on the seat, before searching through the purse.
Upon discovering the cash inside, she placed the purse into a pushchair that she was pushing, and left the shop.
Police have released a CCTV image of the woman they wish to speak with in connection with this incident.
Investigating officer, PC Gary Hemmings based at the Investigation Hub in Newbury, said: "I am keen to speak to the woman in these CCTV images, as she may have information which is vital to our investigation.
"If anyone recognises this woman, or has any information relating to this incident, I would ask them to call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101, quoting reference '43170378382'. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
