A NEW primary school is expected to welcome pupils in September as part of a new community project.
Silver Meadow Primary School is part of the Shinfield Meadows project, which includes the construction of 1,200 new homes and a food store.
Parents who may be interested in sending their children to the school will soon be able to visit the site.
Mayor of Wokingham Rob Stanton visited the site on January 4 to discuss the progress.
He said: “It was wonderful to see the building progressing and I am excited about another great school opening in Wokingham Borough.
"As the borough’s population grows with the necessary new housing it is vital that we provide the right schools, community buildings and other facilities and Floreat Silver Meadow is a good example of how we are succeeding I doing so.”
Silver Meadow Primary School will be part of the Floreat Academy Trust, which already runs Montague Park Primary School in Wokingham.
