A TEENAGE girl was threatened with a knife after two men on bicycles shouted abuse at her.

A group of boys and girls, aged between 14 and 18, were walking on Avon Way in Newbury at around 10.30pm on December 23 when they were approached by two abusive men.

One of the offenders threatened a young girl with a knife before one of the boys in the group attempted to tackle him in response.

The offenders on bicycles then fled the scene along Avon Way towards Gaywood Drive.

None of the victims were injured in the incident.

A 15-year-old boy from Newbury has been arrested in connection with this incident. He has been released under investigation.
