A MAN tried to lure a teenage girl into having sexual contact after sharing explicit messages with her.

Shahjhan Iqbal, of London Road, Earley, admitted to meeting a 13-year-old girl between September 2 and 6.

The 30-year-old asked the girl to show him ‘her p***y’ and attempted to arrange a meeting before he was arrested.

Iqbal will now be quizzed by Border Control and could be sent back to Pakistan.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison at Reading Crown Court on Friday.

Judge Paul Dugdale, sentencing, said: “There is no doubt that when you went to meet her on September 4 it was your intention, at the age of 30, to have sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl.

“You made sexual comments to her that you would want to kiss her boobs, have her sit on your lap near your c**k and for her to show you her p***y.

“If you had a trial the sentence would have been 18 months. I give you credit for your guilty plea and reduce it to 12 months immediate imprisonment.

“Because I have imposed a prison sentence of this length you will have to go on the Sex Offender’s Register for 10 years.

“As a sentence of at least 12 months on a non-UK national has been imposed, it is likely that the Border Agency will seek to deport you back to Pakistan, but that will be a matter for them.

“I take into account your good character and it is clear that no physical sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl has actually happened.”

Steven Talbot-Hadley, mitigating, explained that this was Iqbal’s first time before the courts.

Judge Dugdale also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a standard sur charge on Iqbal.
