Re cycling on pedestrianised roads in central Reading, Broad Street, Queen Victoria Rd, Chain&Link St all off Broad St & the 2 sides of the canal running through the middle of the Oracle.

Why are some cyclists so lazy that they can't be bothered to walk their bikes for 2 minutes through these roads instead of putting people at risk by their irresponsible cavalier 'cycling'.

Some will go fast. Heads down looking at their mobiles or taking calls, hands off their bars !! And now to compound the problem we have the ubiquitous Deliveroo cyclists going through fast, again in their sat nav mobiles to get to their customers as they don't seem to have any local geographical knowledge, they speed to get to one job so they can quickly get to another one to make more money but at the publics safety.

I was almost knocked down by one of them in Bridge Street- On the pavement! There was no need for him to have been on it as the road was devoid of traffic. I tried warning him but he had his headphones & sunglasses on limiting his hearing & sight.

I'm disappointed at the indifference by the police & the council to do anything to stop this. Surely the council must have some legal responsibility for the safety of pedestrians in paved streets. I hope they, & the police will be more pro active in tackling this problem after reading this. At present this is just more accidents waiting to happen.
