STATE of the art trains that would have whisked commuters from Reading to London Paddington have been taken out of service after a number of faults emerged.

Great Western Railway has removed four trains from the lines due to issues including water leaking from air conditioning systems on to computers.

The 8.15am from London to Cardiff, via Reading, was cancelled on Monday.

Service is hoped to be restored soon once a software upgrade is made.

"We hope to have them back in passenger service as soon as possible," a GWR spokesman said.

The four five-carriage trains are meant to be faster, carry more passengers and operate on GWR lines for the next 27 years.
