M4 junction 8/9 Maidenhead to 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: communications Work to maintain the communication sensors in the M4 carriageway takes place this week. The M4 westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 16 October for 2 nights; and the eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 18 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A404(M), Bath Road and A3290.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: bridge reconstruction and slip road maintenance Work to improve journeys by refurbishing the bridge that carries the link roads over the M4 continues this week. Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place on the slip roads and a 50mph speed limit is in place on the M4 carriageway until December 2017. The slip road from the M4 eastbound to the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 19 October. The same slip road will then be closed from 9pm on Friday 20 October through to 6am on Monday 23 October. During the closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 8/9 and return, accessing the A329(M) from the westbound exit slip road.

In addition, work to ensure road user safety by laying anti-skid material to the westbound entry slip road (from the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway) finishes this week. The slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 17 October. A clearly signed diversion in place via the Winnersh Triangle.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham to 11 Reading, Berkshire: bridge maintenance Work to improve journeys by replacing the waterproofing material in the bridge which carries the M4 over the River Loddon starts this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 16 October for 4 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 12 Theale to 13 Chieveley, West Berkshire: bridge refurbishment Work to improve journeys refurbishing a series of bridges that carry the M4 over local roads continues this week. 24 hour narrow lanes, a 50mph speed limit and overnight lane closures will be in place on the east and westbound carriageways until July 2018.
