A DEALER has been locked up after being caught with close to 100 wraps of Class A drugs.

On September 9, 2016, police offices were on patrol in Newbury when a car in Hutton Close caught their eye.

They conducted a drug search on the vehicle before taking Raymond Amoah to the police station.

There the officers found 23 wraps of crack cocaine and 70 wraps of heroin concealed about his person.

At Reading Crown Court on September 13, 2017 the 25 year-old from Norbury Crescent, Croydon, was sentenced to three years for one count of intent to supply cocaine, and three years for intent to supply heroin, with the sentences to run concurrently.

Police Constable Chris Eaton said: "The sentence is a reflection of the seriousness of the offence. Heroin and crack cocaine bring misery to those who you use them and to the families of addicts.

"In addition crime is created as a result of drug addiction. This is another example of how the courts are taking these offences seriously.

"The London county lines issue is a national one and Thames Valley Police, particularly in West Berkshire, is committed to apprehending and prosecuting those responsible to bring about a safer community."
