A FANTASY author will meet fans and sign copies of his new book as his dark saga reaches a thrilling climax.

On September 25 Peter V Brett will appear at Waterstones Broad Street, armed with 'The Core', the final part of 'The Demon Cycle' series.

The series bares much in common with Brett's literary upbringing, which had him reading The Hobbit and X-men magazines from a young age, and a fledgling authorial career at university which ran alongside a love of fencing, girls and Dungeons and Dragons.

Ten years in medical publishing and part time writing followed, before he sold 'The Painted Man', one of 2007's most successful fantasy debuts and a book written during Brett's commute on his phone.

Now, six books later, 'The Core' is poised to draw a veil over a world of bloodthirsty demons, men tattooed with magical symbols and an inexhaustible army.

To be in with a chance of meeting Brett and winning a signed copy of The Core, send the answer to the following question to events.reading@waterstones.com or send to Peter V Brett Competition, Waterstones Reading Broad Street, 89a Broad Street, Reading RG1 2AP.
