STRONG winds ripped down some scaffolding, forcing it to crash into the road and cause a traffic pile-up on a major commuter route earlier today.
The structure, which was next to a building in Church Road, Caversham, fell down earlier today.
Thames Valley Police officers were called to the scene and workers were spotted clearing up the wreckage as cars queued along the road.
Noboday was believed to have been injured when the structure tumbled down onto the road, blocking a lane of traffic.
However, it did cause major disruption on the popular route between Reading and Oxford.
More to follow.
