A TRIO of men have been convicted of drug offences and assault after an incident at Palmer Park.

Officers from Thames Valley Police were called to Wokingham Road on November 8, 2015, following reports of a verbal altercation about drugs.

As the group of victims were leaving the park, they were approached by three men, who had been joined by another five men.

The eight men attacked the victims, punching them and hitting them over the head multiple times with beer bottles.

At around 10.30pm on November 26, 2015, one of the victims was at Park Bar on the University of Reading Whiteknights Campus when he was threatened by another man who told him to drop the charges.

Daniel Brown, 22, of Wokingham Road, was convicted of making an offer to supply a Class A drug.

Braydon Corrigan,22, of Squirrels Way, Earley, was convicted of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Joshua Cruickshank, 22, from Benson Close, was convicted of witness intimidation.

A six-day trial at Reading Crown Court, concluded on Monday, July 31.

The three men were remanded in custody and are due to be sentenced on September 6 at the same court.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Neil Callaway, based at Reading Police station, said: “This was a brutal and sustained attack, with weapons, on a group of individuals.

"The intimidation which followed caused real distress to the victims who were very brave in coming forward.

"I hope this verdict brings closure to them and reassures the public that behaviour such as this will be dealt with robustly.”
