PREMIER INN has said it is 'extremely concerned' about cladding used on three of its hotels, one of which is in Berkshire.

The chain confirmed to the BBC today that it is undertaking an 'urgent review' over three sites- including at Maidenhead.

The other two hotels are in Brentford and Tottenham.

The chain said it does not appear that the cladding use meets fire safety standards.

It comes in the wake of the Grenfell Tower disaster last week, in which fire spread rapidy via the cladding used on its exterior, killing dozens of people.

Last night it emerged that up to 600 high-rise blocks could be at risk, but the government has not given the location of these buildings. Fire brigades around the country are carrying out tests.

Councils have been told in a letter from Department for Communities and Local Government to “move all residents out of the block” if buildings are deemed by fire brigades to be unsafe.
