KIDMORE End recovered from a nightmare start to stun Eversley by 55 runs in Division 2a, writes Richard Ashton.

Alex Sharp (3-18) decimated the visitors’ top order as they slumped to 8-4, but useful innings from wicket keeper Zac Leonard (34) and captain James Frost (33no) helped their side to 129-9 in a rain-reduced 34 overs, Matt Salter claiming 2-19 in his seven overs.

The Boars’ reply was a disaster, however, with only two players – James Magowan (23 off 22 balls) and Nick Rigg (11) – making double figures in a measly total of 74. Frost (3-12 off seven overs), Guy Ashby (3-10) and Umer Faroqi (3-22) were the main men with the ball for Kidmore.

Kidmore End host Kew on Saturday (1pm).

Hurst returned to winning ways with a dominant nine-wicket success at home to Burnham 2nds in Division 2b.

The visitors were restricted to 157-9 in their 30 overs, and fine innings by Usman Ijaz (60no) and Alex Kayser (56) steered Hurst to victory with 19 balls to spare.

Third-placed Hurst travel to Aldershot on Saturday (1pm).

Sonning’s dismal start continued as they were thrashed by 121 runs at home to Thatcham Town.

Visiting skipper Josh O’Flynn (104) led the way and with Jack Young (62) adding a useful innings, Thatcham closed on 269-9 in 46 overs.

Peter Dean (52) and Gary Phillips (40) were the only Sonning batsmen to get going as they were bundled out for just 148 in 30 overs.

Sonning travel to High Wycombe 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

Purley on Thames had their Division 3a game at Chiswick & Whitton abandoned without a ball being bowled. The Potters visit Cove 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

A stunning spell by Razwan Hanif inspired Wargrave to a 52-run victory at Newbury.

Kevin Mills (4-34) and Charlie Anstey (4-60) helped dismiss Wargrave for 179, but Hanif (5-31) and Mandip Sohi (3-46) then combined to knock over the hosts for 127. Wargrave host Falkland 2nds this coming Saturday (1pm).

In Division 4b, a Theale & Tilehurst collapse cost them in a 37-run reverse at British Airways.

Jack Springgay (3-12) and Ram Sankaran (3-28) impressed as the hosts were bowled for 113, but only Michael Holder (37) and Sam Mrowiecz (23) reached double figures in T&T’s paltry total of 76.

Theale & Tilehurst are at home to Cookham Dean 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

Wargrave 2nds (97) were thumped by 121 runs at home to Falkland 3rds (218-9 declared after 44.5 overs) in Division 5b, despite Adit Rajeev claiming 4-55 for the hosts.

In Division 6b, Hurst 2nds clung on for a draw against Purley on Thames 2nds.

George Wheeler (78) led the way for the visitors as they racked up 212-6 in their 52 overs, Pete Rackley also chipping in with 36. For Hurst, Alex O’Keefe (2-32) was the standout performer with the ball.

Wheeler (3-32) completed a fine all-round display by reducing Hurst to 25-2, but Roy Head (47) put his side’s innings back on track.

However, the middle order subsided against the wily slow bowling of Cyril Cox (4-26), and it required Ian Harvey (16no) and Phil Wiggins to hang on for the draw, Hurst closing on 152-9.

Naqash Tahir (58 and 3-39) produced a fine all-round display to help Sonning 2nds (164-7) beat Cove 3rds (161) by three wickets.

Azhar Udeen (5-40 and 40no) ran through the Newbury 2nds’ (70) line-up to inspire Kidmore End 2nds (73-0) to a 10-wicket Division 7a victory.

Mark Mason (4-22) starred for Theale & Tilehurst 2nds (79-1) in their nine-wicket cruise against Fleet 2nds (78). Mohammed Jamil scored 49 not out after taking 2-6 in a seven-over spell.

In Division 8a, Sonning 3rds and Theale & Tilehurst 3rds picked up 25 points apiece after Windsor 4ths and Finchampstead 5ths were unable to raise sides.

The Division 9a game between Kidmore End 3rds and Newbury 3rds was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
