Faulty lamppost goes up in flames
FIREFIGHTERS doused a faulty lamppost after it burst into flames last night (Saturday).
Crews from Wokingham Road Fire Station were called to Showcase Cinema shortly before 11.30pm following reports of a fire.
When they arrived, they discovered a faulty lamppost had burst into flames. Because of the height of the structure, firemen had to use a jet to douse the blaze.
Nobody was injured and the team returned to the station shortly after midnight.
