AN ELECTRICAL fault has left many in West Berkshire without water.

At 10.39am this morning Thames Water reported that the pumps servicing the RG7 and RG18 areas, and in particular Thatcham, had been cut off.

The system went down following an electrical outage, causing customers across the area to lose supply.

Shortly after 11am a Thames Water spokesperson said: "Our engineers have now reached the Harts Hill Booster station in RG7.

"Due to an electrical outage in the area, our pumps tripped causing customers to lose supply.

"We are now working to rest these, and as an additional support have dispatched a tanker to support the area.

"We expect all customers' supplies to return to normal by 14.00pm."
