A GROUP of ardent campaigners are marching for jobs, justice and the climate.

On April 30 the Reading People's March will meet at 11.30am on Redlands Road before walking to the Civic Centre, the Town Hall and finally Forbury Gardens for a picnic at 2pm.

The protest comes the day before Donald Trump's hundredth day in the office of American President and will see support from Climate Change Centre Reading, Ecopreneurs for the Climate in Reading, Greenpeace Reading, Global Justice Reading, Transition Town Reading and Friends of the Earth Reading.

At the same time 200 marches across the country will walk in unison with climate protestors in Washington and London.

A Reading People's March spokesperson said: "We want to encourage ambitious action on climate change to avert a global crisis.

"We want Reading to be part of a giant global movement for change.

"We want a more just, more equitable and healthier world for us all."
