Children from a primary school have planted two oak trees to mark the entrance to the temporary location of their school.
This week, the year 1 pupils of The Heights Primary School in Caversham helped to plant two new trees in Caversham's Westfield Park, outside the entrance of the school in its temporary location on Gosbrook Road.
The school's Parent, Teacher and Friends Association funded the trees, which were chosen as a way to give something back to the area the school has called home for the last three years, whilst allowing the children to show their green fingers.
Headteacher Karen Edwards said: “We hope these new trees will flourish and provide shade, shelter and enjoyment to our local community for generations to come.”
The trees will become part of a pre-existing line that run along the park's eastern edge.
