JACKSONS CORNER will house three up-market fast food chains following its sale last Friday.
Franco Manca sourdough pizza restaurant, Byron burger and Busaba Eathai, a London Thai restaurant chain, will move into the iconic town centre property in October.
The announcement comes after Ankor Property Group bought Jacksons Corner, which stopped operating as a department store in 2013, for £6.5m.
Ankor plan to take advantage of planing permission gained by previous owners SG Capital, a development company that bought the run down King's Road building for £4.5m in April, 2016.
As well as the three ground floor restaurants, Ankor have permission to install 33 flats, 20 per cent of which will be affordable.
Nori Touati, managing director of Ankor Property Group, said: “We are looking forward to bringing the Jacksons department store back to life with three lively restaurant brands and a sympathetic conversion of the Victorian building for new homes.
“It’s a great location, positioned close to both the railway station and The Oracle shopping centre, and one that will be further enhanced by the new Crossrail service in a few years.
"Delivering the retail element will provide a natural extension to the high street and complement other commercial schemes in the area.”
The historic Jacksons Corner sign will not be removed during development work that aims to retain the four-storey building's Victorian facade.
The refurbished and new build apartments will be completed within 12 to 18 months.
