A HIT and run in Newbury landed a teenager in hospital.
At around 4.35pm yesterday a Silver Vauxhall Corsa came over the hump back bridge onto Bartholomew Street and mounted the pavement near to the Pound Street junction.
The car careened into a crowd of teenagers, striking a 16 year-old boy and knocking him to the ground.
Shortly after the teenager was taken to hospital and discharged with minor injuries.
The Corsa drove away without stopping.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call PC Jamie Payne on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
A 19-year-old man from Thatcham was arrested and bailed until 12 March 2017 pending further enquiries.
