A DRUG dealer caught with thousands of pounds along with cocaine and heroin has been ordered to pay back nearly £22,000.
Shahzad Qamar, was caught with the class A drugs and a 'drugs tick list' in a room he rented in a Garnet Street house share.
The 36-year-old was jailed for six years and ordered to pay up his ill-gotten gains.
Following the hearing, Detective Inspector Gavin Tyrrell from the Economic Crime Unit said: "This outcome sends out a clear and strong message that crime does not pay.
"After a sentencing, we will continue to pursue those who have benefited from their crimes, to ensure that they are deprived from living off the proceeds."
Qamar was ordered to pay back £14,220 found in the room as well as another £7,646 he had given to his associates.
He must repay the fines in three months or face an extra 20 weeks in jail and still have to repay the money.
He was convicted of possession with intent to supply cocaine and diamorphine and possession of criminal property after a four-day trial at Reading Crown Court on Friday, January 27.
