AN ELDERLY man was assaulted and robbed in an early morning raid.
The 72-year-old victim was driving his car towards Colnbrook on Horton Road, Datchet, at about 6.45am on Tuesday December 6, when his white Volkswagen van was struck from behind by another vehicle close to the junction with Stanwell Road.
The man got out of his van, only to be assaulted by a number of men from the other vehicle, a blue four by four.
The offenders left the elderly man and drove away in his van.
The victim required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.
The van was recovered in Crown Meadow, Slough, just over a mile away from where the incident happened.
Investigating officer Det Con Devjeet Hunjan, of Maidenhead Local CID, said: “This distressing incident left the victim requiring hospital treatment and has also resulted in the theft of his vehicle."
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is encouraged to call Thames Valley Police on 101 or alternatively the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
