A MAN wearing a beanie is being hunted by police after a woman was sexually assaulted in Reading station car park last week.

The 21-year-old victim was walking up the staircase from the underground car park to the concourse on Thursday, October 13.

A man wearing a dark hooded top and beanie walked up to her before pushing her against the wall and covering her mouth with his hand.

He sexually assaulted her just before 8pm then fled the scene.

He is white and around 5ft 10ins tall.

Detective Inspector Jaci Thomas from British Transport Police said: “Thankfully, the woman was not hurt but she has been left extremely distressed by this very frightening experience.

“No stone will be left unturned in our search for this man and we are currently trawling CCTV in the area and making local enquiries to try and identify a suspect.

“I would like to reassure people that incidents like this at Reading station are unusual and we are not aware of any similar assaults taking place in the vicinity recently.

“I would urge anyone who was at the station or used the car park between 7pm and 8pm last Thursday, and recalls seeing anyone acting suspiciously, to contact us.”
