CENTRAL Reading has ground to a halt as thousands of revellers packup and head home from the three-day Reading Festival.

Roads around Caversham and central Reading have begun to slow down as the bedraggled music fans look to make their long and dreary ways home.

The A329 which circles central Reading, including the IDR, is running very slowly as is the A4, A34, Richfield Avenue and Cow Lane.

Routes away from the festival began to slow down as the festival goers left the campsite and are expected to remain busy for hours.

The Gosbrook Road, B3345 and Oxford Road are also clogged as motorists look for routes to beat the jam.
