Welcome to our live blog of the final day of the Reading Festival 2016.

Today is sure to be an action-packed finale to this year's event, with the triple threat of Biffy Clyro, Fall Out Boy and The 1975 headlining this evening.

Stay tuned for updates throughout the day and into the evening. Tweet us your pictures and thoughts: @rdgchronicle.

11.37pm: And with an absolute belter of a final number, The 1975 bring the night to a close and Reading Festival to a conclusion for another year. It also means this blog will wrap up, so thanks for reading and hope to see you again for Reading 2017!

Reading Chronicle:

11.10pm: Apparently this track is inspired by Jesus Christ. It's very soothing nonetheless. And very blue (literally!).

Reading Chronicle:

10.57pm: Absolutely packed tent for The 1975!

Reading Chronicle:

10.40pm: Reading Festival is getting into a Jools Holland vibe with The 1975, who'll be a perfect way to see out the night.

Reading Chronicle:

10.10pm: Here's Biffy Clyro rocking out on the main stage!

Reading Chronicle:

9.37pm: Wow INCREDIBLE set from Fall Out Boy. Definitely my favourite so far this evening. Now that's over, I've headed to the NME / Radio 1 stage to catch the tail end of The Wombats, but it turns out quite a lot of people have had the same idea. The atmosphere is electric inside the tent!

Reading Chronicle:

9.17pm: I think Fall Out Boy may have just given new meaning to the term 'burn down the house'...

8.50pm: Fall Out Boy's back catalogue would be an excellent rock musical. It's THAT good.

Reading Chronicle:

8.38pm: Sparks are flying at the main stage!

Reading Chronicle:

8.24pm: The night is closing in but it is surely young as Fall Out Boy are bringing down the house!

7.58pm: Fall Out Boy are just about to head on stage!

Reading Chronicle:

7.40pm: The glitter is especially prominent this year, according to repeat festivalgoer and Vaccines fan Andrew Smyth, 17.

"I knew a lot of their songs on the radio which made it really good. The vibe was really strong," he says.

"Next I'm going to head to Fall Out Boy, also on the main stage, and then the end of The Wombats to put me in a really good place for The 1975, which'll be a great end to the night."

Hmm, there may be a scheduling idea in there for later tonight...

Apparently Andrew has a subscription to BuzzGym in the town centre so he and his mates have been using the showers there, which has been a welcome relief from the stresses of camping! At least he's making the most of his gym fee!

Reading Chronicle:

7.15pm: The party has well and truly started with The Vaccines!

Reading Chronicle:

6.47pm: The Vaccines are well into the swing of things on the main stage, drawing a huge and very satisfied crowd!

6.23pm: After a very well-received appearance by ASAP Rocky, anticipation is building ahead of The Vaccines, who are due any moment...

6.00pm: The Wombats have been spotted in the press area before their set later tonight!

Reading Chronicle:

5.30pm: There's not just music at the Reading Festival, there's a funfair for those lulls in between acts. Thrill rides include this scream machine, the Atmos-Fear. It's pretty good!

Reading Chronicle:

5.10pm: The festival is pulling in fans from far and wide.

Will Priest, Garrett Eison and Theo Kocmin, all 16, hail from the United States.

The trio, who go to school in Surrey, have relished Reading 2016 so far.

"It has been a lot of fun and there have been really great musicians," says Will.

The boys have particularly enjoyed seeing Eagles of Death Metal and Nothing But Thieves.

They're looking forward to tonight's appearance of Fall Out Boy, who are originally from the same state as Theo and Will.

4:50pm: We've just spotted Guardian commentator Owen Jones in the press area. He laments the fact that he has to catch a train to London so won't be able to see The 1975 later tonight.

Reading Chronicle:

4.30pm: The lead singer shouts "FIVE FINGER!" and the crowd enthusiastically replies "DEATH PUNCH!" as Five Finger Death Punch conclude their set.

Reading Chronicle:

4.11pm: The Dance Stage is absolutely packed! Who needs Ibiza?

4.03pm: Over on the BBC R1 / NME stage Québécois band Half Moon Run are due in about ten minutes.

Reading Chronicle:

3.44pm: "Smooth Criminal" is rocking out on the soundtrack as we build to the next act on the Main Stage: Five Finger Death Punch.

Reading Chronicle:

3.30pm: A break in the miserable weather. Hurrah!

Reading Chronicle:

3.22pm: The crowd just went WILD for Sleeping with Sirens!

2.45pm: And the rain has returned again... Hopefully it'll ease before Sleeping with Sirens finish their set...

Reading Chronicle:

2.20pm: We've managed to grab an exclusive chat with up-and-coming band Fighting Caravans, fresh from playing their set onstage here in Reading! And not long before that they were enjoying the spirit of their hometown Leeds in that 'other' festival...

They say the atmosphere here has been "incredible" and they're looking forward to seeing Biffy Clyro tonight.

"Reading Festival is definitely the highlight of our career so far," they said.

1.54pm: The weather has been pretty changeable all day so far and it's been pouring with rain again. What would a festival be without the odd shower?

Hopefully the dry spell we're in will last a bit longer...
