THE new head master at the Oratory school is celebrating with his students who succeeded in their A Levels.

The overall pass rate at the school was 98 per cent, higher than last year.

The new Head Master, Mr Joe Smith, who was on hand to offer his congratulations to boys and parents said: "These are very pleasing A level and Pre-U results, which reflect the enormous amount of hard work and commitment by our boys and staff.

"Our top performers have achieved very well, with a healthy proportion of 37 per cent of all grades being A* or A grades, and with some notably excellent results in subjects including Art and Mathematics.

"Also important for The Oratory, as a broad entry school, are the many individual success stories where boys have added significant value beyond what they might have hoped for. We celebrate all their achievements today."

Among the best performers were Chris Humphreys whose 2A*s and one A secured him a pot to read chemical engineering at Bath and Gorge Tyler, who is off to Durham to read classics having earned three As.
