A WOMAN sitting at a bus stop on Wokingham Road was sexually assaulted by a stranger on Wednesday, July 20.

The 26 year-old victim was approached by the man at around 8.30pm.

Following an attempt to engage her in conversation, the offender touched the woman inappropriately before walking into Palmer Park.

The offender is an Asian man between 25 and 30 years-old, around 6ft tall and of a slim build with short dark hair and a stubble beard.

He was wearing a red t-shirt with a blue logo on the front, blue tracksuit bottoms with two white stripes on both sides and blue flip flops. He was carrying a camouflage rucksack.

PC Eleanor Davies, Investigating officer based at Reading police station, said: "We believe this is an isolated incident however it was very distressing for the victim. 

"We are appealing for information from anyone that may have witnessed this offence or who may have seen anything suspicious in this area at the time. 

"If you have any information about the incident or recognise the description of the offender please contact me via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101."
