A MAN has been arrested after a trio were threatened with a gun in central Reading.

The three men were walking along Bridge Street when they were approached by two men, one of whom showed them a firearm tucked into the waistband of his shorts.

Thames Valley Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident at around 3pm on Monday, July 18.

Investigating officer police constable Kris Couzens said: "Incidents of this nature are thankfully uncommon however we take all reports of this nature extremely seriously.

"I would appeal to anyone who has any information about the incident, or who saw what happened, to contact police."

A 24-year-old Reading man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and released on police bail until August 20.
