AN ARSON attack forced two Tilehurst residents in their fifties out of their house in the early hours of the morning of June 10.

At around 2.26am on Friday morning, the two unnamed victims were alerted to the fire by their smoke alarm.

They both managed to exit the house and call the fire brigade who subsequently put out the flames.

The Don Close residents suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital, but have since been discharged.

Thames Valley Police are now appealing for witnesses following an arson with intent to endanger life.

Investigating officer Det Con Alex Coyne, of Force CID, based at Reading police station said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident or about the person or persons responsible for this offence to contact me via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
