A COLLISION between two vans at around 4pm this afternoon has reportedly closed Langley Hill road.

Two fire engines were called to the Tilehurst road at 4.07pm after the collision. 

The Dee and Whitley Wood engines used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the vehicles' occupants.

Crew Manager Gray from Dee Road said: "We were called to Langley Hill where two vans had got in a collision. 

"One male was trapped and it took us about an hour to release him. 

"There were two drivers involved and both have been taken to hospital."

South Central Ambulance Service were called to the scene shortly afterwards.

The seriousness of the crash and extent of any injuries are not yet known.
