A DUO who used a stolen bank card to withdraw cash have been jailed for burglary and handling offences.

Dean Cichocki and Danny Halstead each admitted a single count of handling stolen goods at Reading Crown Court today.

The pair used the stolen card to take out cash from an ATM in Church Road, Caversham, on November 3. The card had been stolen during a burglary in Blenheim Road.

Cichocki, of George Street in Reading, also admitted to the judge he burgled a house in Battle Place the following day.

The 44-year-old smashed the rear patio door and stole items worth more than £5,000.

He also damaged more than £5,000 worth of belongings.

Halstead, 34, of Hartland Road, was sentenced to one year and nine months in jail, while Cichocki was locked up for six years.

Detective constable Sam Prickett of Reading Police Station said: "This is a good result and reflects the seriousness of the crime and the effect that burglary has on the victims."
