HIGH winds from have ruined a motorist's car after a sign was blown onto this BMW.
The damaged vehicle was parked outside the Travellers Rest in Caversham when the towering metal pole was sent plummeting onto the bonnet and smashing the windscreen.
No one was injured when the gusts felled the pole at around 4pm Saturday afternoon.
Staff have since cordoned off the scene while they await a team to come and remove and repair the sign as the car owner talks to his insurance company.
The bonnet has partially caved in where the pole landed with the driver's side wing mirror and windscreen also facing damage.
The car had been left at the Henley Road boozer by a customer.
Met Office warnings for high winds have been in place across the country and Reading saw strong gusts in excess of 40pmh over the weekend.
A spokesman for the pub said: “Due to the strong winds at the weekend a sign unfortunately blew down on to a guest's car.
"We have spoken with the guest and our insurers are working together to resolve the matter.”
